Yes, 5 years of school psychology experience would be accepted for the ISS payscale. At least this is what has happened overseas. For those that teach stateside, do you live on base or do you live near the base? Are there any allowances for stateside teachers? Anyone live in Camp Lejeune area?

I want to move to Jacksonville, my parents have a house down there near the base. They want me to live in the house to help them out. I wouldn't mind finding employment with Onslow district but they don't pay anything.

I had one interviewer ask for my references, but when I contact my principal, he said they never contacted him. I did get the offer though. So, who knows? I guess it depends on what they feel they need to know or what might be lacking. Some will contact your references before the interview based on the available information.

Well I contacted someone at HR about the position. It is for mild learning disability and Emotionally Impaired.

Ah, OK. Well, that kind of makes sense, although generally they would have just listed the category numbers for both of those cert areas.

Same situation as QuestionsAllDay, I did not get the job.
Also had one school contact my references before asking me to interview (which is strange) but I turned down the interview, so my references wasted their time.

Last year, I had what I thought was a pretty solid interview. I was not selected, the principal did not check my references nor did the subject come up during the interview.
