hahaIf you have recently interviewed for a position it could be a good sign, but people have recently posted varying experiences and results after being asked for references and/or references being contacted, so tough to say.
HelpOthersIt may be that the references on file are not from a current supervisor or are a few years old and need to be updated. It is not a bad sign. :)
Anyone know someone who got a tentative offer and not a firm offer? If so what was the problem? For those with a firm offer, what was the time between the tentative and firm offer?
Rebekah DeFeoAfter the interview, how long does it take before you hear from HR about a tentative offer? Or how long before the principal call to ask for references?
Received a referral notice 13 Jun, no interview request to date. I did not receive the email stating a selection was made. I'm a local applicant overseas. Should I give up hope for this school year or is there still a chance I might be called to interview?
Cmc I interviewed for the position last year and did not receive either a referral or rejection email last year. I was hoping for a different outcome this year.
Anyone who has been hired, what was the timeline between tentative offer to firm offer to departure date? I put in my resignation for my current position for the end of July (had to be before the start of the next school year in August) now I'm feeling nervous that I'll be jobless awhile...
HelpOthersIt could be a few months. I suggest you get on the sub list at your current district in the meanwhile so you have some income while you are waiting. Also, talk to your current medical insurance about continuing to cover you until you start your new job (COBRA?).
I have been unable to log into this site until today. It has been two weeks or so. I'm sorry I was not able to announce here, an opening in Japan for a school psychologist. That application window has closed. I hope all school psychologists interested have active applications in EAS.
hahaThere is generally no way of knowing when/where there are openings unless they are listed on USA Jobs like the School Psychologist position (which is relatively rare for teacher level positions) or an announcement goes out through internal email and someone posts it here.
HelpOthersDoDEA rarely posts vacancies. When a position has been determined vacant, the principal is permitted to request a list of applicants from HR. HR uses the Electronic Application System (EAS) to provide the list. Occasionally, a position is announced in USA Jobs, but most of the time, the applicant is directed to use EAS.
bleuI think it has to say active to be pulled but I'm not sure. you should definitely call. HR can pull up your application while you are on the phone.
