The process might be slowed down now because of the Equip changes. There are several mentioning they haven't even filled it out yet and are several weeks into the process. Yes, the timing/logistics can be awkward at times but you just try to soldier through and do the best you can under the circumstances. It's great that the school is being supportive but be aware that principals can start to get a little tense if it looks like they may end up being short a teacher in the classroom.

smnogle23, that is awesome! I was thinking about trying this (applying as an aide or anything) just to get my foot in the door. I am a certified teacher but in school for counseling and wanted to make the transition. I'm hoping once you get in the DODEA system, it's easier to apply as an internal applicant.

Fingerprints are usually requited for everyone, regardless. Even if someone is a current substitute for DoDEA and gets hired for a full time position, then a full background check is STILL generally required. So, while anything is possible with the government, it would be quite surprising if they did not want fingerprints, etc. from you.

Awesome! I seem to remember more PSCD openings in both the transfer round and in last year's hires ( on this board) than any other SPED category outside of LIMM. Good luck!
