Are you really traveling Space A or are you a new hire moving to an overseas location? If the former then yes, I agree with Haha, Contact the terminal from which you intend to fly.
If your a new hire then you will not travel Space A. Get your orders and ask the nearest base travel office to make reservations. Ask them to book you on the Freedom Bird if there is one for your destination.
I was told that the whole hiring process could take 4-6 months. So what does a person do if they don't get travel dates until September or October? My school is very supportive...but it would be very awkward to start a new year knowing I was leaving?
On the bright side, it is...See MoreYes, the timing/logistics can be awkward at times but you just try to soldier through and do the best you can under the circumstances. It's great that the school is being supportive but be aware that principals can start to get a little tense if it looks like they may end up being short a teacher in the classroom.
On the bright side, it is still very early compared to past years and so there is a great chance that it won't be an issue.
Positive Vibessmnogle23, that is awesome! I was thinking about trying this (applying as an aide or anything) just to get my foot in the door. I am a certified teacher but in school for counseling and wanted to make the transition. I'm hoping once you get in the DODEA system, it's easier to apply as an internal applicant.
Has anyone been to Puerto Rico recently? Is safety a major concern? How expensive is the housing near the base? Any additional information about living there would be helpful.
Does anyone know of any online chemistry or physics classes that are DODEA approved for qualification purposes? I am a little short in the transcript area on these two subjects.
Anyone know anything about this post? Just had a referral for there. So anyone wondering about Europe referrals I had one on Thursday afternoon. Who knows as referrals go but I'm hopeful.
...See MoreFingerprints are usually requited for everyone, regardless. Even if someone is a current substitute for DoDEA and gets hired for a full time position, then a full background check is STILL generally required. So, while anything is possible with the government, it would be quite surprising if they did not want fingerprints, etc. from you.
If you have any doubt as to whether everything is happening the way it is supposed to to with your processing then contact HR and get clarification.
LeoAwesome! I seem to remember more PSCD openings in both the transfer round and in last year's hires ( on this board) than any other SPED category outside of LIMM. Good luck!
