I personally don't teach bio but our biology classes are in genetics right now with ecology coming around the bend. I haven't looked into the standards, scope and sequence to know if it's in draft even but heard we are updating textbooks within the next two years so maybe it will come with that.

Thanks for the info so it looks like the same order as the standards are listed in and the same as I do now. So that should be an easy transition.

Yes it went very well (I think) I just know they didn't ask these. I remember two of them. Have you ever been in an itinerant teaching job? (This job is regional) Tell me all the technology you are familiar with using/teaching with this particular population?

I used La Verne University in California for my other credits and I working on completing them. They are self paced and reasonably priced. You can move through them pretty quick.

AZPsych, make sure your application in EAS is active and check USA Jobs regularly or have set up automated e-mails for when DoDEA school Psychology positions are announced.

Background checks are the biggest mystery with the process. A few happen quickly but many/most drag on for many months.

My impression is that they generally check after the interviews but I have heard of it happening differently for different people (like most things associated with the process).

Virtually all interviews seem to be done over the phone. I'm not really sure why that other option is there but maybe it was more common in years past (just like they used to have a "job fair" type event at HQ in years past).

Yes, German teachers are in reasonable demand in Germany (or at least they were the last I was tuned into the situation). As I recall, a few years ago they decided that all teachers had to be US citizens, even the the host country language teachers. If that s still the case then there should be a fair demand.
