My application is submitted, I just have to get work experience forms completed and make sure my reference completed there evaluation forms. I think Im an awesome teacher but I only have 6-12 social studies certification and military preference which i gather doesn't mean much. Im going to try to get at least one AP cert before next summer though

They do not have to approve waivers, even for teachers. I was advised when I was hired that I could submit a waiver, but there was no guarantee my son could come to my school (especially since he's in upper elementary where numbers are higher). I visited Yokosuka this week. I was told that civilians can live on base, but after 5 years,you have to move off base. At least with the current command.

Adding credits and submitting transcripts basically. If you maintain a state certification (a really good idea) then you should still be able to add a state cert through testing (if your state allows it) which then means you only need half of the normally required hours.

I do have more than 32 credits on social studies and before been hired they want me to take the state test (the HR person was not willing to go over it, that was my sense on the phone). I hope they look to it now.

Permanent means not a temporary or not to exceed position. Part time because it is only a .5 position (with .5 benefits). Seasonal because we get our summers off. I have been working on adding more certs lately. I took the business and finance exam from my state (this was my major) and passed. It looks like though that dodea is asking for teacher prep courses? I don't see that in the category description.. any idea what's up?

Definately helping neighbors in Houston is more important than responding quickly. Keep yourself safe! I did an ACP also but later went for a Masters in education so I should be ok.
