HelpOthers If you interview for a position and turn it down, your application will be locked and you will not be placed on another referral list this hiring season. If there is a chance you will turn down a position, it is better not to interview for it.

KG Thanks Shenna! I too have mostly been getting referrals but I never knew I can directly email the principals. I was just told to wait until someone decides to interview me. I have been waiting since 2015 but pcs kind of affected it. Goodluck to you as well. I did email the principal and hope to hear from her soon.

I've worked in a public school for 13 years. Will my years of service transfer to DODEA and would I still retire at 25 years? I have an EDS and see the pay scale is much higher but weighing the decision based on the retirement issue. Thank you for your time and guidance.

HelpOthers With DDESS (DoDEA America) you would start at step 5 (0 experience starts on step 0) and with DoDDS (DoDEA Europe and Pacific) you would start at step 11 (0 experience starts on step 1). You could retire after 20 years of DoDEA service or at a certain age, can't remember the details.

So I just got a notification that my passports were shipped via Fed Ex and should arrive tomorrow, but I still don't have orders. Is that normal? The wait is KILLING me.
