Have any teachers actually booked transportation to PCS this summer? We are hearing teachers can't PCS until travel restrictions are lifted...which hasn't happened yet.
'Exemption (k) allows "travel by civi...See MoreRAT was interpreted to be covered by Exemption K in the Transition to Conditions-based Phased Approach to Coronavirus Disease 2019 Personnel Movement and Travel Restrictions memorandum dated 22 May 2020. It was very specific and did not include travel for new hires (and many other types of PCS moves).
'Exemption (k) allows "travel by civilian employees complying with overseas tour rotation agreement requirements." DCPAS has clarified that exemption (k) permits employees to execute Renewal Agreement Travel (RAT) and does not require an exception to policy.'
I received 3 referrals for a school within a span of 5 minutes. Each referral email listed the same positions, but the name of each referral list was different. I'm assuming this signifies 3 vacancies for the position, correct?
Is it possible to be hired for a position that you are certified/qualified for, but have no formal experience in? For example, if you interview for a Library Information Specialist position, is it possible to get the position if you've never actually done it?
Madrid10, yes, that's a picture of the Alhambra :) My dream location is Spain. I have wanted to live there for 20 years! Hopefully one day, I'll get there... :)
I taught FLES - Foreign Language in the Elementary School. But the program was terminated by DoDEA at the end of last school year. I really enjoyed it, but I had NEVER taught Spanish before so it was a whole new experience and adventure for me.
1234567FfmIcanread, I know the city well. It is just really nice, it has a lot of things to offer. Perhaps they have something in the future in Rota. Close enoughf.
I updated my application for the upcoming school year (previously done a few years ago) on 5/14. I never received a referral list email. I was contacted about interviewing on 5/18. I interviewed 5/26 (10 pm so technically 5/27 for the school). I received the tentative offer 6/4.
Teach8311The rotators are all booked this summer, so we can't take the PE into Oki. More importantly, we can't PCS until the travel restrictions are lifted, so we are stuck waiting for that to happen. We are nervous this could be a long wait. Any idea if teachers can get an Exception to Policy letter to PCS?
IsItFriday?Same advice as two minutes ago - ask for a waiver.
But some of this is premature.
The travel restrictions are for today. You are not traveling today. You don't need to travel until around August 01. The restrictions may have changed, and/or it may be easier to get a waiver.
I was interested to know if anyone is still getting referrals at this point. I accepted an offer and it has taken them over a month to figure out that the location can not handle my son's learning disability. So at least they reactivated my account. Any present referral's in science would be helpful to know.
ms896Weird- I have accepted a final offer already for the upcoming school year and my EAS application is locked for processing- but I just got a referral for another school a couple of days ago. Thought I wouldn't get any once I accepted, but did.
1234567FfmI asked, but it was not clear to me. I read up the FAQ part of EAS. I understood the above. I don't want to do make decisions that can block me form offers or possible further referrals and/or interviews. Thank You.
1) Is there some minimum number of days out your orders will be? So if they write the orders on July 15 will they not write them for less than "x" days out from that date? So you have enough time to finalize plans, say goodbye, etc.
2) Has anyone else had background check done recently and want to share how long it took? They have had my eqip responses for 2 weeks and my prints for 10 days and my references have not been contacted yet.
3) What exactly does your sponsor do and not do for you? I would like to have to have appropriate expectations.
4) How bad do you think its going to be when movements begin again for all the families in the queue waiting to move? What do you think will be most impacted? Finding TLQ? Reserving the movers? Etc.
Sponsors vary wildly based on location. individual, etc. Some pick you up from the airport and practically adopt you. Some answers some questions via email and then you don't talk with them again until school starts. Answering questions, some transportation on/around base until you get some of your own, maybe take you shopping the first time, to housing, to the CAC office, etc. would be reasonable expectations, but may or may not happen.
No idea what the back up will look like. Many moves have already happened under exceptions, so hopefully things will not be much worse than usual.
Quick question. Im a current Europe west local hire. I applied on Usa jobs and got an interview for Europe South. Does anyone know if I get the job if I pick up benefits? This is not an out of district move so I wasn't sure if this has an impact? Any advice is appreciated!
