I know that when you're hired, you are required to complete a physical. Does being overweight, or obese, keep you from passing the physical or getting the job?
How long after an interview should I remain optimistic for an offer? It's been exactly a week since my interview. I felt pretty good about it, but now I'm having doubts.
hahaTimelines between interview and offer (if one is to be forthcoming) vary wildly, from hours, to months. A few days to two weeks seems fairly common, so not time to panic or give up hope yet.
If you are hired as a Library Specialist and a classroom teacher position opens at the same school the next year that you are certified for, will you get first choice to fill that position?
Have any teachers actually booked transportation to PCS this summer? We are hearing teachers can't PCS until travel restrictions are lifted...which hasn't happened yet.
'Exemption (k) allows "travel by civi...See MoreRAT was interpreted to be covered by Exemption K in the Transition to Conditions-based Phased Approach to Coronavirus Disease 2019 Personnel Movement and Travel Restrictions memorandum dated 22 May 2020. It was very specific and did not include travel for new hires (and many other types of PCS moves).
'Exemption (k) allows "travel by civilian employees complying with overseas tour rotation agreement requirements." DCPAS has clarified that exemption (k) permits employees to execute Renewal Agreement Travel (RAT) and does not require an exception to policy.'
I received 3 referrals for a school within a span of 5 minutes. Each referral email listed the same positions, but the name of each referral list was different. I'm assuming this signifies 3 vacancies for the position, correct?
Is it possible to be hired for a position that you are certified/qualified for, but have no formal experience in? For example, if you interview for a Library Information Specialist position, is it possible to get the position if you've never actually done it?
Madrid10, yes, that's a picture of the Alhambra :) My dream location is Spain. I have wanted to live there for 20 years! Hopefully one day, I'll get there... :)
I taught FLES - Foreign Language in the Elementary School. But the program was terminated by DoDEA at the end of last school year. I really enjoyed it, but I had NEVER taught Spanish before so it was a whole new experience and adventure for me.
1234567FfmIcanread, I know the city well. It is just really nice, it has a lot of things to offer. Perhaps they have something in the future in Rota. Close enoughf.
I updated my application for the upcoming school year (previously done a few years ago) on 5/14. I never received a referral list email. I was contacted about interviewing on 5/18. I interviewed 5/26 (10 pm so technically 5/27 for the school). I received the tentative offer 6/4.
Teach8311The rotators are all booked this summer, so we can't take the PE into Oki. More importantly, we can't PCS until the travel restrictions are lifted, so we are stuck waiting for that to happen. We are nervous this could be a long wait. Any idea if teachers can get an Exception to Policy letter to PCS?
IsItFriday?Same advice as two minutes ago - ask for a waiver.
But some of this is premature.
The travel restrictions are for today. You are not traveling today. You don't need to travel until around August 01. The restrictions may have changed, and/or it may be easier to get a waiver.
