Are there any programs that match new teachers with a buddy of some sort to assist in navigating the transition overseas? If so, is it done automatically or does it need to be requested?

MsU I was wondering too. I'm concerned that we may be in quarantine for 14 days and will need groceries lol!

HelpOthers Yes, the 14-day restriction of movement has led to more planned supports than may have occurred in the past. You will not be able to go to the grocery store, etc. while in ROM, so we do need teams of volunteers to support those who are entering the country. educatormama It totally depends on the school/district you go to. My overseas school did not provide me a sponsor and I was pretty much on my own with my 2 young children to figure everything out. They are trying to implement mentors for next year, I really hope they do because it was a very tough with no support.

It is a supervisor's job to on board new employees.

Providing mentors is a novel, and a seemingly acceptable way, for administrators to avoid their responsibilities. It is a way for them to slide their work onto other people.
