So I had a dilemma ...See MoreI had an interview this past weekend and I'm just waiting for feedback at this point. I'm thinking that I've probably not been selected, but I'm relieved that I now have the interview experience. Honestly, after several years of applying, I am happy just to make it to the top of the slush pile to even get an interview.
So I had a dilemma this morning when I went in to check and make sure my application reflected my qualifications for future referrals/interviews. I did not have the correct level of education selected! I forgot to change it this past update after I earned more credit. I am wondering if it matters a great deal that it initially stated Masters, and now it's Masters+30.
All of my transcripts are provided that show this, but I know that with HR and principals so busy playing catch-up, it may go unnoticed unless it can be quickly scanned in the short report. But then again, I'm reading that it really doesn't matter in some cases as the principal will choose whoever they want regardless of level of qualifications. I'm a little conflicted.
ecd5The only thing that the masters +30 will help with is determining your actual salary after you are selected. I also do not think that it would be a deciding factor on whether or not you are selected over another candidate with a master's degree.
MyDODThanks you guys! I was feeling the same about the technicality of it not mattering, but uneasy about technology shooting out a referral list based on edu levels and certs. Thought I may have shot myself in the foot for past opportunities.
How long does the federal background check typically take? The prints are due to arrive in MD on Friday. The instructions say it can take up to 10 days after that.
My husband wants to list the house already, I told him he needed to wait until that's done ✔
MsUThanks everyone. With the protests and virus things aresuper unpredictable right now. Our realtor said we should put in our contract that it was contingent upon me receiving the orders and then also ask for 60 days if necessary. Houses in this market typically sell in 3 days with 45 day closings!

This is probably a weird question, but is there a limit on the number of referrals/interviews a person can receive? For example, let's say something had 10 interviews in three years, is there a limit that one can reach that will get them taking out of active status or prevent them from getting more referrals/interviews?
I tried to post this once and it didn't go through... Hoping it's not double posted.
This is for anyone overseas in DODDS... Is there any current openings for PE and/or Health on any level (K-12) you know of? Potential openings? Thanks.
IcanreadHonestly, in the handful of PE openings I've seen in my area in the past 2 years, those positions have all been filled by internal applicants. So even if there are PE positions open right now, they may be offered to current DoDDS teachers before local/CONUS hires.
When people discuss contacting references, are those the people (admin) already listed on the application who were supposed to have filled out the referral form? And if they already did that, are they contacted again when DODEA checks references or do they view the referral forms?
IcanreadEven though you may have completed referral forms in your EAS applications, sometimes interviewers contact your references again. When I interviewed, I had to submit a list of references before my interview.
I qualified as a Spanish teacher, I am updloading documents to comply with the German qualifications. How long does it take for someone to review it again? Thank you.
IslandgirlYou are allowed to rent your property, don't read to much into "the rules" as they were written long ago. There are jobs for spouses and children. Mine worked as a para, USO, and kids were lifeguards and baggers at the commissary.

Due to a security feature on one of my official transcripts, I was unable to upload it to my application. After emailing the email address that is listed to correspond with, I got a reply saying to email my transcript to a specific person, and she would upload it for me. That never happened - no transcript was uploaded by that person. So instead, just for safe measures, I printed it out and just scanned it in and requested my file be re-evaluated. The first time I submitted my file without that transcript, someone attempted to evaluate it and requested that last transcript.. not it has been twelve days and that one person never uploaded my transcript for me, nor has anyone gone back in to re-evaluate my application. I have sent many emails trying to figure out what is going on, both to the person who said they would upload the transcript for me, and to the general email that is listed on the website to correspond with. Nobody is getting back to me. Is this normal?
Liv_hopefulI think you should just upload yourself. Even though you don't have a printer, you can download the file as a PDF file. Pretend that you are printing the document, then where you can select a printer, there should be an option where you can download the file as a PDF.
IslandgirlThey want someone they can mold. Be yourself, a self starter, willing to learn a new system and follow plans with fidelity. You can never predict what they want because Dodds is a mesh and a good place to work. Good luck.
