Shawna11Interesting... lol I just thought about what it entailed. I think a referral list went out for it because my quals were reviewed for it. However, they said it was missing a class.
Original post: I was called last night about a referral list I was never notified I was on. I was asked if I'd like to interview for the position, I expressed my interest and said absolutely yes. They said they'd be sending an email that I would need to respond to. Unfortunately, I did not get an email last night. Does this happen often? Did I sound too eager?
I am a little confused about the elementary art teacher requirement. Do I have to get 24 SH in elementary education and another 24 for art education in order to be considered as an art teacher? Where can I do online courses for art education? All my research just shows degrees... and they are very pricey... Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!!
Driver's License- I...See MoreI'm cautiously optimistic about a position in Italy so now my brain is swirling with everything I'll need to know. Who's in Italy? Here are some things I'm wondering?
Small kitchen appliances? Will a converter or adapter work? Worth it to bring them? I'm thinking about like my good blender and things like that.
Driver's License- I know there's an Italian license we'll have to get, but are we still supposed to be keeping our stateside license up to date?
You can bring your cheap stuff too. It's a small hassle dealing with transformers, but bringing the stuff saves you the expense of having to immediately replace everything.
Throwing away stuff, or selling it super cheaply to strangers in the US, doesn't do you much good.
The best is when you can give stuff away to close friends and family. But again, maybe not the good stuff.
Always keep all your licenses up to date. Renew if possible before going overseas.
After turning down a job offer for SY 2020-2021, I'm already thinking of applying for the following year. Do you think it's too early to apply for that year? I saw that SY 2021-2022 was available on the DoDEA application website.
lma324Because you turned down a job offer, that means your application is locked for 1 year. Although it may be possible to get another referral I've never heard of this happening if you've turned down a job. I would start looking for 21/22 :)
hi, when do they typically call your references? Just finished an interview and I felt like it was going well but they didn't ask for my reference information which they did in my other interview. It was going long (40 min) so I'm hoping they just forgot?
I just finished adding Moderate/Severe Disabilities to my qualifications. I would like to start on the next set. Would it be more beneficial to work on being qualified to teach Kindergarten or SPED Severe/Multiple Disabilities???
hahaDepends on the transcripts/what she already has of course. I do agree that SPED Pre-K (PSCD) would be a great addition, covering basically all of the potential SPED openings.
https://www.dodea.e...See MoreHR sent this to me.... hope it helps someone who may want to know what's on their reference forms:

I noticed some schools are hiring for principals in Japan. Would interviews occur under new principals, current principals, or by another administrator?
