I do hope that is true @haha I have actually decided to keep most of my belongings in non temporary storage and get new things out there. Partly because of the taxes and also because my stuff always seems to break in big moves.

My understanding is that the process has changed and applications for admin positions are done through USA Jobs as the come open. There isn't a "call" any more.

I believe you would start at step 10 or 11 (I can't remember which) for your time in public schools... but then you would also get your credit for how many years you have taught stateside for Dodea.

That's my understanding as well. You would get 10 years of public school experience, so Step 11, and then added credit for your DoDEA Americas experience (keeping in mind that we have "longevity steps" starting at Step 14, meaning that you stay on that Step for 4 years before moving up).

Yes, that's what I was trying to say. It does seem backwards that you get a referral, AFTER you have already interviewed for the position. It does seem odd, even for DoDEA. I would think it's just a glitch, but nothing would really surprise me, I guess.

It's always open, no date. However there is a time of year where if you applied already, they ask you to update your application. Hiring is year round, although busier during the summer.

I would say that the position is for this year. I was just referred in November and going through the process now. For reference I was interviewed on 12/4, offered tentatively 12/17, and received my firm offer 1/17. I am still waiting for orders though. My tentative start date is 3/2. Good luck!

If you get to the interview stage, you have very high chances with VP. Principals have to provide written justification to HR for not selecting you, many choose not to go through this process. You may want to research Naples, it's not for everyone.
