I have my Master's plus fifteen hours, but not enough course work in one specific area to qualify in all areas. In my state, I'm certified for all areas except vision and hearing. That's what's so frustrating. I have over 120 PD hours in mostly autism and behavior, but none of that counts. Very frustrating to be considered a professional in one place and not sufficient enough in another.
I ❤ sped The same thing happened to me. I had to get 6 credits in order to get the moderate/severe for ES, MS, HS and severe/profound ES, MS, HS. I am certified for everything in my state and have 17 years of experience. DODEA operates differently. It paid off-today I got 3 referral emails! Long and frustrating process.

happyteacher Nice! I bet we got the same three referrals. I too, was certified for evetthing in my state. Luckily, dodea qualified for me moderate/severe and severe/profound, but I did need to take an additional class for preK Sped and preK and K gen Ed.
