Argh - my comment disappeared. Sorry if it appears twice! I knew you got LQA, but I didn't know that some bases have a COLA. 20% of your salary?

The rate is 20% but that makes it sound better than it is in reality. Ours is 25% and that would seem like 25% of your $65K salary would be $650 a paycheck but the way it is calculated means it would likely be much less than that ($200-300 a paycheck). Still a nice addition to your salary but not 25%.
