Greetings, everyone. I hope you are all well. Like clockwork, I am on spring break. This spring break, however, feels different as I begin to contemplate my future. Here's a little bit about my background. After finishing my master's in English, I decided to become a certified secondary teacher. After student-teaching for a semester, I became a full-time substitute for two years, including a period of several months when I became the teacher of record following an emergency. Although I was content with piecing together my teaching portfolio, an amazing opportunity fell upon me that I couldn't pass up as I was granted funding and a fellowship to pursue a PhD in Digital Humanities. The beauty of this program is that I have become proficient in philosophy, online instruction, language arts, critical theory, rhetoric, video game studies, computer/software coding, and even experimental design as I have drawn from a plethora of interdisciplinary fields. haha While you certainly have a varied and interesting background, most principals seem to place the highest value on recent, relevant K-12 teaching experience and a range of certification areas (based on DoDDS requirements).
