Does anyone know if specialists positions are ever split between schools? For example, a psychologist working at the elementary school, and the middle/high school on the same base? If so, do you know how that works with interviewing/a position coming up? Would the 2 principals coordinate to hire one candidate, or from your experiences, are psychs just assigned to one school (and cover multiple roles such as psych/counselor)? In all of the past districts that I've worked in, the psychs have been hired by the district and then assigned to multiple schools, but with dodea it looks as though psychs are hired directly by the principal. So I was just trying to think through how it works, since from what I can tell, most schools are not big enough to need a full time psych. Thanks!
haha Yes, it's quite common for School Psychologists to be shared between two or even three schools. As for interviewing I have seen/heard it done different ways. If the position is technically on one school's manpower agreement, then one principal could well do the interviewing for it.
