I have a friend who was a sub then a local hire. Even though there was a background check and prints already for the substitute position, they had to do an entirely new one for the teaching position. It took 3 months ( including the hiring freeze which is now lifted for DODEA). Apparently there is a new process in place for individuals working with minors and children and it is taking a lot longer than other types of clearances. I say not to sweat it if you have a clean criminal record, decent credit score and don't have a pot farm in your back yard.
