Start Up Costs

I received something detailing the costs that we can expect to get overseas and our first month overseas, including first month rent, deposit, etc. I was told to expect 10-15K out of pocket for the first month. My question is, how much of that will be reimbursed to me at a later date? I understand our pet costs will not be reimbursed, but is everything else? How does LQA work - do you pay up front and get reimbursed? Or do you get the money at a certain date each month?

happyteacher Why would the govt deduct it from your paycheck if rent is covered under LQA? Is the deposit covered under LQA? TeacherMama - the info was given to me by my new school.

SandArt Guest, so your new school said you'd need up to $15,000 out of pocket to move? We do not have $15,000..... We have about half that.

happyteacher They said the costs would be about 10-15K upfront... more if you bring pets (which we are). There was a lot of information they sent me, and that figure was at the bottom. SandArt We are bringing our two dogs as well. I was looking last night, and some airlines do not take shizu (I spelled it wrong on purpose because it was reported for language) dogs. Some let you bring them with you on the plane, and some have to be in cargo.... so many questions and very little answers.
