Agree with Mary-Lorraine. Plus, it could be luck. I am certified for elementary, reading specialist, math endorsement, qualified to teach math and reading in junior high, gifted and talented, ESL. I was hired after my first interview and during my 1st year applying. Luck has to play a part here, but certification in many areas sure helps!

I am applying for the next school year but what I have done is really looked at my transcripts to see where I could add qualifications. I had enough credits in some areas that going to take my state exam and adding the subject to my certification would give me the qualification without taking additional coursework. Allavita, I will be a math support specialist. Not sure if that's the exact title. My contract says Compensatory Education Mathematics . I think you need 12 credits in math. Or it's 15. I kept getting the credits mixed up for compensatory math and being eligible for junior high math.

Yes Janie! Look at your transcript 500 times if you need to. Last year I only applied for Middle Math and Educational Technologist.
