I emailed my 42 page (whew) inprocessing packet last Thursday and sent a follow-up email yesterday to confirm that they received it, but I haven't gotten a response yet. My timeline is quickly running out, and I'm starting to panic. Teachers in FL go back on 8/3. In my last email it said I had to report to Spangdahlem by 8/21 and can't travel before 8/2. I'm so worried that my background check and paperwork won't be processed by then. I haven't received a "firm offer" with travel orders yet. Anyone have any advice? I just want to be able to give notice at my current job and tie up loose ends.

SandArt Get started on the medical stuff. Don't wait for the e-Mail! Get your appointments/forms out of the way so when you get the firm offer, you can respond the same day, if possible.

someday You need to decide if you would start work in your school if you haven't left yet. I don't know if you are in a large district but if you are I would explain what's going on and see if they can float you around until you leave. I know my district will be short at least 200 teachers the first week including new hires who haven't processed, etc. Then...See More

Scholar I had to push hard to get the background check and passports started. Did you get them started yet?

wanderwoman My district flipped to an annual contract a few years ago, so that part won't matter. I just want to keep it as easy as possible for my principal because she's awesome and has been so supportive of me. I've already sent in my passport info and completed my background check as well. It's literally just me waiting.
