Thanks for the responses, So does the 12 years of teaching experience count towards retirement?

I don't believe any experience counts towards retirement unless it was federal/gov't experience.

I suggest getting the application in as soon as you can, especially if you are a good teacher. :)

My application is submitted, I just have to get work experience forms completed and make sure my reference completed there evaluation forms. I think Im an awesome teacher but I only have 6-12 social studies certification and military preference which i gather doesn't mean much. Im going to try to get at least one AP cert before next summer though
