Here is my question - let's say there are 2 identical vacancies in different geographical locations. For example, HS teacher of science in Germany, and HS teacher of science in Japan. Is it reasonable to assume that when the referral lists are run that the same names appear on the list? If not, why would they be different?

I find it puzzling that I make referral lists for Japan and South Korea, but not for Europe. Especially since people have posted about being new CONUS hires in Europe in areas I am qualified for.

someday No I don't think that! I was originally just saying that maybe there is a set of applicants who didn't choose a preference of Japan and Korea and would rate higher than you (all other things being equal) and that is why you aren't getting referrals for Europe. AP certification might play a role in that scenario as well especially this late in the game where someone couldn't complete the training. I have a question for you though,,, Do they actual refer you to positions in countries that...See More

The reason I asked the hypothetical questions is because someone on this board mentioned being a new CONUS hire in Italy for a school counselor position. I was just wondering why I wasn't referred there, but I was in Japa...See More

HelpOthers I know that for a specific position near me that when a referral list was run and people were called to interview, they did not want to interview for this location even though it was a location they had chosen on their applications. When another list was pulled looking at those who did not choose this location, applicants were asked to interview an...See More
