Hi. I'd like to apply for next school year. But it looks like DOD wants to contact your current principal. Any way to leave the current job off the list? I don't want them to know I'm thinking about leaving. That seems like a bad HR practice: who wants a possible future job contacting their current job before they even have any interviews? I've never seen that before. Thank you.

haha If you approach you admin in the right way you should be able to get the required reference for your application and still not endanger your current standing. Just go to them and mention that you are putting in an application with DoDEA, it's a real long shot that you will even get an interview much less an offer, once in a lifetime opportunity to ...See More

SandArt I'd explain to your current admin that it's a job you want in a couple of years. Explain that it can take years to get an interview or job. I do not think it's bad HR practice. Joy I told them in February and I told them about my dream of servicing military kids and that is very difficult to get hire (NO joke).
