I feel your pain, LOL. Last year was my husband's first year, so this past summer was tough. First, I would say if you didn't take the full amount of advanced pay you could have, you might consider that a source to get you through the summer months. What is EDC?

It is when you sponsor a club, sport, etc for which you get paid. Just guessing, but I think the letters stand for Extra Duty Contract, but I actually have no idea even though I have 4 of them.

Extra Duty Compensation but basically the same thing. Depending on the size of the school and the principal, most teachers seem to have at least one and many have multiple EDC's.
