Good afternoon! I'm in the process of PCSing with my husband overseas and am extremely confused about the hiring process. I am certified in 2 states (US) and have a MA degree. I have been subbing in a DoDEA school while awaiting our orders / husband finishes schooling. I've updated all of my paperwork on the DoDEA site and it appears as though I am qualified to teach grades 1-6. I have not received any emails regarding any openings, yet having spoken with several teachers in the area, am aware that there are openings. Any advice as to what I could be doing while still stateside?

haha Have you switched your target location to your new posting yet? That's the only way a principal in the area could know that you were going to be available as a local hire. Also, if you have not already you should email the principal(s) in the area to introduce yourself and let them know of your availability.
