I noticed that DoDEA is using this program to schedule telephone interviews. You cannot open the attachment sent to your email with the request for interview unless you have this program ($110) or another one to schedule the actual interview. For the Cuba position, I had to asked the school to send me a word file that I could read and give at least a email text response.

Bike Grrrl Icanread, there are many K-12 International schools here in the US you could work at. I work at one and the majority of our residential faculty have children and/or spouses. Check out nais.org.

Frank This year I had an interview with Dodea for a position in Japan, and the principal asked me if I had kids. It caught me off guard, because I didn't think they were supposed to ask that. I thought the interview went really well, but I didn't get the job. I have 3 school age children but I doubt that's why I wasn't selected. Interesting though.

haha @ AZPsych- Hmm. They probably asked it without thinking but you're right in that they are really not supposed to ask about families (in my understanding). In theory you could possibly litigate that you were denied the job because of your children. If they don't ask then they don't leave themselves open for it. Frank Thanks for the feedback haha. Yeah, I have no plans of litigation or anything like that. It did seem like the principal was trying to be interested and friendly, rather than holding it against me or anything.
