I'm the applicant, asking questions about my husband. He had an organ transplant ten years go and is healthy (already consulted doctor about a letter for him stating he is healthy enough to travel/move internationally and that won't be a problem) but does need regular blood tests and access to prescriptions. I don't really see this as a problem, many people are on medication that they must continue if they move, but wanted to see if anyone has had problems receiving routine medical care. I know this can vary greatly based on where you are located, and I've seen mixed comments about being able to see doctors on base. Would this have stopped any of you from pursuing a teaching job with DoDEA?
haha Medical care will vary by location but I can't think of many locations where blood tests and the vast majority of medications are not readily available either on base or on the economy. ESLTeach Thanks, haha. I really appreciate you taking time to answer so many of our questions! This was exactly what I needed to hear--as long as he can get the medication he needs, we should be good, and it doesn't sound like that will be a problem. I will definitely research the location if I get an offer.
