I just got a TO and I am freaking out, I am so worried that this mistake will prevent me from passing the background check. The irony is that I will be in a better place financially if I get the job and my creditors will receive a bigger monthly payment.
I hope I dont get DQ'ed for this.....
Do DoDEA teacher redo the background check every 5 years?

Purpose of them doing the background check is to see if you have ever defaulted on a federal loan, such as a federal student loan. If you have defaulted you are, in theory, ineligible for federal service.

Like I posted earlier, I know teachers with DoDEA who have had major credit issues and still made it past the background check. Your troubles are more recent so that might be a little more problematic but there is no hard and fast rule about that (that I know of).
