Quick question, I work as a teacher for DODEA stateside. I started December with organization December of 2016. How long do I have to work at the school before I can move to another school in the same district (Southeast Americas) but in a different state? I tried to update my application for new target areas and it still says that my application is frozen due to processing. Please advise.
IsItFriday? Email HQ and tell them to unfreeze your application. Don't expect an apology. In theory, you can move anytime. But don't hold your breath. You are not moving anywhere unless DoDEA-Americas has a pressing need. And they don't!

haha I am far from an expert on DoDEA stateside. But, my understanding is that you can apply to positions that open up at other schools if they state they are open to current DoDEA teachers. In DoDEA overseas you would generally have to be off of provisional status (served two years) and your current principal has to agree to the move. I'm not sure if t...See More

HelpOthers In my experience, I called HR and they said that my application would remain frozen for the remainder of the school-year for which I was hired. I called to ask them to unfreeze it in that February/March time-frame when they normally ask people to activate their applications for the upcoming school-year.
