Does anyone have experience with student teaching with DoDEA that could shine a light on the housing situation?

It is kind of a chicken and an egg thing. I think the idea behind it is that they want to know that you have/will be able to arrange a viable living situation BEFORE they approve you to student teach. That's when having/making some connections at school/on base definitely can come in handy.

If you are applying in one specific area, you might ask around about whether you can stay with someone. Or, you can have money set aside and find out rental rates and tell them you will rent a home if you are approved. Stateside, you would open a P.O. box at a mail boxes etc. or something that does not actually say P.O. box.

bem, I worked with my student teaching coordinator to submit the application (the only odd part is where it asks for an address for where you will stay). I didn't secure housing, so I am waiting to see if I am accepted.
