I hate having to ask this, but I'm hoping someone out there will be able to provide some guidance. I used to be employed by DODEA, but during my probationary year, I was harassed and discriminated against by my principal. I filed an EEO complaint. Once that happened, I was terminated immediately. Although, I believe it would have happened anyway. I am trying to get rehired. On EAS under Professional Evaluations, it states "Former DoDEA employees must have an evaluation completed by their last DoDEA supervisor." However it also states "A supervisor may be one of the following: a principals, assistant principals, cooperating teachers, university supervisors of student teachers, PreK-12 department chairs, and professors."

As part of the EEO settlement, the principal cannot make a comment about my performance and can only confirm that I worked there, resigned and that there was no misconduct from me. Essentially, it would be a blank form with just these basic facts on the back. If I let the evaluator know this in an effort...See More

haha Sounds fairly tricky and complicated. None of them sound like great options for you, frankly.

You might want to start with trying to get the evaluator to finalize your application without the reference from your former principal. Generally, they will be looking to make sure your EAS is complete, not to be making negative comments about que...See More

HelpOthers I had a similar experience with HR stating that the reference needed to come from my evaluator. In DoDEA, that is your principal. I suggest calling the HR person without saying who you are and telling them your situation to find out the best option.
