I got this e-mail today:

THIS IS A SYSTEM GENERATED MESSAGE; PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL.

Dear BIKE GRRRL,

This is to notify you that you were not selected for the position(s) of 0333 Secondary Physics at EJ King E/HS under Referral Number: 18MAR7XHE6500PA515199. Please be advised that you will continue to receive consideration for vacancies for which you qualify in your geographical location preferences.

Thank you,

Okay, so I don't have Japan chosen as one of my countries and I never got a referral e-mail about this position. I'm really worried that when the real referral comes I won't get it!

someday That email looks like they are saying you aren't qualified in physics? Did they reevaluate it? Weird although I have no clue about how they operate.

someday oops I hit the button to soon. Maybe it is saying because you didn't choose that geographical area you aren't being considered.

haha It sometimes happens that lists get pulled in error or they change the certs they are looking for before they ever interview people (for example, it seems strange to me that EJ King, a relatively small school would need a teacher to teach nothing but Physics all day, every day). I wouldn't worry too much about it.

IsItFriday? There are a lot of different things going on here, some of them slightly contrdictory.

1. Congratulations! You made the referral list for a teaching vacancy in a location not on your list of geographical preferences. This is completely normal.

2. In theory HR makes referral lists of candidates with that geographical preference. T...See More

HelpOthers You may not have been chosen, specifically because you did not list Japan.
