Hello I just put in my packet and of course now I have tons of questions. Fairly quickly I got "Qualified" on Physics, while the chemistry, biology and general science is still pending. So I'm wondering if the first qual is just a fluke or if I maybe each separate qual might be done by someone different so the other quals make come down later. It may seem like impatience but I have a reason. I was kind of surprised that I actually got the physics qual and expected to just get the general sci. MY certification is in all secondary science. In earlier conversations on here I came to understand that DoD would want a certification in each area. So I was planning on taking the appropriate Praxis this summer. Hoping this is now not necessary. Joe
someday It looks like if there is a position open for something you have pending they will go in and qualify you or exclude you before they send off the list. They did this for me with math last week and there was a physics list in the last few days. I hope that makes sense.

BubbleHead to my understanding you don't need a state cert in anything. State certs have the benefit however to reduce the number of required credits by half.

Joe Wachs Someday. Surely you are not implying that DoD is trying to be efficient and speed things up..LOL THANK you for that information. That is encouraging. Bubblehead thanks also for clarifying that. My concentration in school was physics and when it came time to take the Praxis they had us take the test that covered all science areas. So I was thinking ...See More

haha Agree with what's been posted. It's always risky trying to figure out how and why HR does or does not do something but it makes sense that Physics is a high needs area. As posted, DoDEA cares most about credit hours. If you have the specified numbers of hours and the course are all obviously the requested ones then it is pretty straightforward. If ...See More
