Anyone brought animals (dogs) to Japan? I am a little overwhelmed at the process looking at it online. If I end up with the job I am interviewing for I would really like to bring my dog. Looks like she would be short on the quarantine's total 180 days by the time I would potentially leave. Anyone know if the Yokota AFB has a quarantine on base or how that would work? Any info appreciated!

HelpOthers I know that Yokota permits it. I would expect they all would, but it is possible that a location had people caught taking their pets off base during the quarantine period and decided not to allow it. You can contact the Vet facility at each location to ask them. They should be able to tell you.

southernteach Well since I would be single I can't live on base anyway. I guess I may just have my parents bring her later like at Christmas if I get the job.

HelpOthers Depending on the timing, you may also be able to stay in temporary housing for up to three months if you are not able to find a home. Your dogs could remain with you if you are staying in the pet friendly TLQ. I think the dogs were an extra $10 per night or something, can't remember exactly. We ended up moving into our house before the quarantine w...See More
