Does any one know if DODDS affirms or counts service as a paraprofessional (in a SPED setting) for teaching experience credit? I have acted as teacher of record in the past (on an emergency license stateside) and have also acted as a teacher of record for a long term absence, to include completing nearly all of the duties this person would have had to. I have also been taking education courses (in SPED) along the way but have not taken any PRAXIS tests. Nor have I any state certification. Would I have a shot at getting a SPED job with DoDDS, to anyone's knowledge? Thanks

haha Generally, no, only full time teaching experience in a K-12 setting counts as teaching experience for DoDEA. You would really need to meet the requirements set out on the DoDEA teaching requirements page to be considered for a teaching position. As Leo posted, take a look and see what you can work towards checking off.
