Does anyone know how many days you have to work in a school year for it to count towards a full year? My first year teaching I subbed in the room long term and converted to the full-time teacher after winter break. I know there is usually a minimum number for it to count as a full year.

Thanks
H Mine was literally a full year...to the day. I even had to google to find an old school year calendar to show what dates were considered a full school year. They were being so ridiculous and petty about it! But eventually I proved my case.

WaitingOnDoDEA I started mid year and my district counted it as a full year because according to Texas, I met the minimum amount of days, so my guess would be, it depends on how your district codes it.

someday That makes sense. I guess I need to find out if I meet the minimum number of days for Dodea to count it for a whole year.

haha I've heard various numbers required for various purposes with DoDEA. For that year to qualify for RAT travel, for example, you apparently need to be on duty status for 175 days.

DoDEA only counts "full years" apparently for experience towards your salary Step. I've seen various numbers of days thrown around (e.g. 145-175) but I'm not sure ...See More
