I accepted an ISS position. I know what the job description says, but I'd like to hear from teachers what the position entails.

paradisepeach5 I am heading to the Pacific Region for ELA and SS for grades 6-12. I'm looking forward to the opportunity. After 21 years in education, I am ready for something new.

HelpOthers ELA has been doing lots of trainings and next year the SS ISSes will be doing lots of trainings. You will need to travel to many of the different schools to provide the trainings and will support schools, teachers, and administrators to teach the content areas, including CCRS and AP.

haha Sadly, virtually all of the ELA training (at the HS level at least) has been done by an outside company/contractor that they fly in from the states every quarter. Hopefully they will actually utilize the expertise they have on staff in the form of the ISS types in the future rather than paying additional money to outside providers.
