For those of you who have made the move abroad, what have you done, and how'd it work out for you? I welcome any advice from those of you who have been through this.

HelpOthers We sold our house when I accepted a DDESS job and rented until I accepted the DoDDS job. We lost money on the sale, but the rent at the DDESS locations was half of what our mortgage had been, so we saved back the amount we had lost before moving overseas.

Teach We sold our home. We dealt with renting it out for the three years we were overseas when my husband was active duty, and didn't want to deal with that again. We also knew we would not want to return to that state again, so it made it easy to part ways with it.

Ida It feels really good to go through things as you plan to start over. It was one of the best parts of a crazy summer, dropping stuff off at Goodwill.
