Hello All! I'm a SPED teacher who just applied through the dodea website for openings overseas for the 2018-19 school year. Within hours of applying, my current district was contacted and asked to verify employment. I was excited because I thought this meant the process would be moving quickly! It's now been over a week and I haven't heard anything since :(

Since this is my first time applying, how long can I expect this process to take? What is the next step after contacting my employer? Is it realistic to expect to have a position for the 2018-19 school year? Do most teachers start at the beginning of the traditional school year or are they hired year round?

Any insight would be helpful! Thanks again!

Any suggestions that you can make to make my skill set stand out on my...See More

haha It's always hard to predict what individual principals will value the most. Your safest bet is adding areas of qualification since that will potentially get you onto more referral lists thereby having more chances to get an interview and potentially an offer.

More certs/quals makes you eligible for more positions and gives principals more ...See More
