Hello all, I am a new SLP who will be completing my clinical fellowship year in the States this year in order to become fully certified. I would therefore like to apply to DoD for the 2019-2020 school year. I emailed someone with DoDEA on when to ideally apply, and she said that they begin their recruitment process in January-February and then take all the applications off-line. So she told me if I apply early to keep checking my app so I don't miss out. What does this mean? Does your application itself notify you of interviews or interest or something? Why wouldn't I just be contacted by phone/email if they're interested? Thanks so much, all!

CF-SLP Thanks for your comment. Email/phone contacts as in ones that I'm providing, or something they're posting in the application?

Ida I believe the HR rep was referring to the application update in February ish. No matter when you fill out your app, around February they have a deadline that it must be updated. It would be best to complete the app in the fall and then do the update in the winter. If you don't have it in the system and updated by the deadline the you aren't conside...See More

Ida No. It can take a few days or a few weeks.

SLP-T @CF-SLP, I think you are fine to be hired once you have your CCC however, DODEA doesn't accept state licensure for our positions. It has to be from your states dept of ed. I had to submit my old cf paperwork because I wasn't paying ETS $50 for a copy of my scores from years ago.

CF-SLP Thanks, @SLP-T! It is required for me to be licensed with my state's Department of Education for my CF anyway, so that will all be in order. Thanks for everyone's input!
