I know there are several people expressing frustrations about the hiring timeline specifically delays in E-QIP access. I received my tentative offer on April 24 and turned in my initial paperwork within 24 hours. My HR representative says it was turned in. I've been following up every 10-14 days trying to see what has been going on and have just been told to wait. It has been 8 weeks. I'm to the point where I'm concerned that there might be an error in my e-mail address or contact information. My most recent e-mail to HR was sent on Friday and she still hasn't responded. Besides the HR representative that I was assigned, is there anyone else to contact to ensure the paperwork was actually submitted? Any way to find out if security has been trying to contact me? If this part of the process takes so long I'm concerned about how long the actual check with take once I can submit it.

IsItFriday? Those people are right to be frustrated. You're at the beginning of a large learning curve. You are taking up employment with an enormous bureaucracy, one of the largest in the world. CM Thanks for the advice/insight @IsItFriday?

I've recently been told the same by others who have gone through the process and the wait can be unfortunately typical. I've wanted this job since I was a student intern with DoDEA, so I'm willing to learn how to be extra patient with the process.

Here's the latest from my HR Rep: "They are working the list, I just had 1 submitted so I'm down to 6 now so it could be a week or so more. I hope not but the process is not moving quickly." She is going to start getting daily calls tomorrow.

Passport Status: "Passport is issued, I am waiting on your orders to release."

Mrs.C My response: "I contacted security on your behalf, and you should be hearing from someone soon on the next steps you need to take." (The exact message sent to me on May 22 and again today) I understand the dynamic process and I would be OK waiting if I knew my stuff was actually in the right hands. I guess my concern lies more in the fact that I am...See More

HelpOthers I would contact them every day instead of every 10 days. I would also ask if you can contact the security person directly. Remind the person how long you have been waiting and keep the e-mail stream, so they can look at the previous e-mails in timeline.
