What happens if you have already agreed to a tentative contract...and then another school asks to interview you? Do you have to tell them you are off the market, or is it fair to take the interview, since the tentative offer states not to make financial decisions until an official offer is made.....???

haha I think it's mainly designed so that people don't quit their jobs and then not pass the background check AND to prevent people from just trying to cherry pick the "desirable" locations and waste other principals'/HR's time.
