Often, people stay in Germany for a very long time. I believe it may be one location that is hard to transfer out of, but like haha said, it is considered a desirable location and likely enduring.

You would likely be rated low on the transfer pecking order (Category D or F) which makes it less likely to get the transfer out. On the other hand, many people are wanting to come that way and so depending on your certs, it could happen.

Hi, I lived on the German bases as a child and was a product of DoDEA schools (and I was just given an offer for a teaching position in Japan *AHHHH* stoked).
The base I mostly grew up on (attended all three schools during three different moves, ES, MS, HS ) was Heidelberg but unfortunately this closed down.
