HELP!!!!! I am a former Engineer with an MBA. I completed an Alternative Certification Program to teach Math 6-12 and have since taught Math, successfully for 11 years (in 3 different states, middle and high schools). Are you or anyone you know familiar with Dodea and Alternative Certification? I would love to join Dodea. What are my chances?

LolaTeach I went the alternative route as well; my bachelor's is in business. No problem getting my state license transferred to a DoDEA license. Depending on how many credits you have, you may even be able to teach high school engineering related classes. Look at the DODEA teaching categories and requirements page.

LolaTeach Also, to clarify, I was a local hire at the time and Disney receive a DoDEA license until after I was hired.

HelpOthers Look at the teacher requirements. There are a few methods classes that you must have. Your program may not have required them. I agree the earlier you submit what you have the earlier you will be told what you need.
