I applied in March and have yet to even be put on a referral list. I have worldwide availability except for stateside and an availability day as July 15, 2018. I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, and add on certification in All grades School Librarian. I am taking three classes this summer to have more qualifications as far as target jobs go. So far I am qualified for 5 and with these three classes I should be qualified for 7 or 8. Is this enough to be hired by the DODEA? I have discussed with my husband the possibility of going back for my doctorate, but it is do expensive. I could also do the Educational Specialist route wish is about half the time of the Doctorate. Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions would be appreciated. Also, is there a way to get copies of the references, what my references actually said, that were sent to them? thank you in advance!!

Just Me Haha, I am already qualified in the elementary grades and also in librarian for elementary, middle, and high school. So that is 5 qualifications already.

haha Thanks. It sounds like you are pretty well covered with ES and related areas. Information Specialist is also a good area, although positions are obviously limited to one per school.

Just Me Haha, does it seem like I have a good chance of being on referral lists and interviewed based on my credentials? Maybe not this year, but at some point in the next couple years?

haha It's always difficult to predict what openings will come up and/or who will make referral lists, gets interviews, etc. That being said, there are a fair number of ES positions and at least a couple of Information Specialist positions that come open every year. You certainly seem very competitive for an ES position given that you have/will have some...See More
