Divorced, bringing child

Anyone navigated getting passports quickly when you're divorced and living in another state from your child's father? Are there additional documents for DODEA that he will have to sign off on? We're friendly, and he's onboard, but I'm getting worried about things shifting into high gear suddenly because he definitely does things on his own schedule. Our son has a valid tourist passport that expires next June.

WA_Counselor We actually tried to renew our son's tourist passport as I am currently out visiting in WA where my ex lives, but you can't renew a passport unless it's 6 months or less from expiring. We're headed back to FL on Sunday, so I was really hoping things would move faster on the DODEA side.

someday Yes get two copies of that form notarized. One to go in your official passport paperwork. Also get two copies of SS card and birth certs just photocopies for each person so the passport office doesn't charge you.
