I got a tentative job offer!! Now I have to go through all the paper work and hope everything goes well.

Any advice on going to Japan?

Happy Teacher Taking an American car is expensive and the cost would be entirely yours. You can buy used cars very easily and inexpensively once you get there. You can ask for an advance once you get there - it's a zero interest loan for up to three months' salary.

haha As posted, it's generally not possible (or at least not feasible) to bring US made cars to mainland Japan. People do drive SUV's and minivan type vehicles in Japan but I would agree that at times it can make driving, parking etc. more difficult.
