Good morning! I am a current SPED student and am interested in teaching for DoDEA in the future. I was a former sped para overseas. I am planning on taking the needed courses for a PSCD cert and am browsing the DoDEA website for the teacher categories. This is what I found.."A major in special education or a minimum of 30 SH in special education is required. Course work must include a minimum of 12 SH directly related to preschool or early childhood education." Is there any more direction than this, as in a list of specific course names that will work? I don't want to waste time on a certificate if it doesn't include all the needed coursework. Thanks for any help!
haha If you call/write HR they may give you some more definitive guidance. In general, any Bachelors/Master in SPED meets the guidelines for Learning Impaired Mild to Moderate.
