I am reading the DODEA requirements and trying to figure out how my education/experience will translate and am wondering about middle school science. I received a degree in Cell/Molecular Bio with a Chemistry minor and now teach 7/8 science with my multiple subject credential and a supplemental authorization in science.

Are there any middle grade DOD science teachers who could share what qualified them?
norcal Thanks Icanread. I have read the requirements, but was not sure the middle school requirements for science required earth science units or not. Aren't all middle school science jobs general science?

haha Course offerings vary a bit by school. In Germany, they did offer Earth Science and Life Science in the MS. So it sounds like you would likely qualify for General Science at the MS level. It's also possible that some of your credits would be counted as Life and/or Earth science credits. Have you applied yet? The best way is to apply and select what...See More

someday I am pretty sure the Earth science just falls under the general science heading. I have no earth science coursework and am currently teaching it but I did qualify for middle and secondary general science based on my credits in science.

haha I think you're right. I looked back at the categories for the last couple of transfer lists and the only MS science listed is the code for general science (230).
