Teaching Jobs on Teachers.Net

On the DoDDs Facebook teacher page they are talking about the plans to cut 370 jobs. Some of those jobs will be the FLES positions and early retirement (offering incentives). However, i've heard local hires will be the next to go. I'm thinking this might be an even harder year to find a job! I already posted a few months ago that i'm heading to Ramstein in June and could teach Elem or Library K-12. My husband has a contractor job that does not pay for schools for my two kids. It's going to be interesting!

Texasteacher17 does anyone know about how many people retire from the system each year??

haha Not really, but whatever it is will likely be more this year since they are offering $40K as an incentive to retire at the end of the year (and another $1000 if you let them know NOW).

Cindy Kohl @WaitingOnDoDEA I'm still in the states, but I move to Germany in June and i'm hoping to find a local hire position. My husband is already there.

Teach Cindy, local hires can often have a better time finding positions as sometimes numbers cause schools to add positions right before and even after the start of the year.

People will resign and retire, so there could be positions.
