Four weeks ago I had an interview for a position for this school year. I felt the interview went very well and was optimistic to hear my references were contacted. However, I haven't heard anything. I contacted the school secretary and she was unable to answer if the position was filled. I know the process can take time and there's a lot going on in HR now, but is four weeks a typical time frame for a current opening?
iowatoabroadhopeful Congrats on the interview! I've been interviewed twice, and never heard back negatively or positively. After about two weeks, I kind of assumed. I hope that's not the case for you! Keep us posted!

haha It can vary wildly from days to months. In general, two weeks seems fairly typical. You would think that for an opening this year they would be in a hurry to get it filled but you never know. All you can do is try the principal or HR and see if someone will give you an answer. Otherwise, expect the worst and hope for the best.
